The pedagogical added value of using stories is that it is easier to get to the core of a certain topic. In a way the story is a detour but through the story you get closer to the learners’ brains and hearts. Stories offer you a kind of springboard to get access to difficult situations.

I don’t use storytelling to teach ‘performance or communication techniques’. I use it as a direct way to the minds of people, to make them open their minds and hearts.

A storyteller has better communication techniques and is very sensitive for what happens in a group.
