When we are told stories from other cultures, we are given insight into other ways and values and therefore have empathy. The saying goes ‘When we listen to our enemy’s story, he is no longer our enemy.’

Disclosing specific personal details in a learning environment can cause discomfort and obstruct communication and learning, while storytelling opens up deep channels of communication so that we learn with ease and flow. This is true in all learning contexts where storytelling is applied.
